The scholarship amount totals $1,000. This is the company's main scholarship program. There is also a smaller program that is solely for employees of the chain. In order to qualify for the Burger King Scholars Program, applicants must attain the following qualifications according to their official website: Be a senior student in a public, private, vocational, technical, parochial, or alternative high school in the United States, Canada or Puerto Rico. The selection committee that the Burger King Scholars Program uses moves quickly in order to allow students to know if they have received a scholarship. Within two weeks of the scholarship deadline, semi-finalists will be selected and notified. At that point, the semi-finalists will need to provide additional documentation to the selection committee. Anyone who has not been chosen as a semi-finalist will be notified by e-mail that they will not be receiving a scholarship. Finalists will be chosen from semi-finalists within two months of the scholarship deadline.
