This committee delves through the submissions and considers applicants on the basis of financial need, extracurricular activities, letters of reference, academic achievements, awards, work history and community involvement. How long before I will know if I have won a scholarship? The selection committee that the Burger King Scholars Program uses moves quickly in order to allow students to know if they have received a scholarship. Within two weeks of the scholarship deadline, semi-finalists will be selected and notified. At that point, the semi-finalists will need to provide additional documentation to the selection committee. Anyone who has not been chosen as a semi-finalist will be notified by e-mail that they will not be receiving a scholarship. Finalists will be chosen from semi-finalists within two months of the scholarship deadline.
